Oakley’s Lens was born from a personal journey—a journey of rediscovering creativity, capturing moments that mattered, and turning a passion into something worth sharing. It all began to take shape with Oakley, my chocolate Lab, or ‘O’ as we affectionately call her. With her expressive eyes and undeniable presence, she became my first true subject, the one who unknowingly guided me through my early lessons behind the lens. What began as simple snapshots of a beloved dog soon became something more—an understanding of light, movement, and emotion, framed within the stories that unfold in the great outdoors.
This passion for photography grew alongside my lifelong love of fishing, hunting, and working dogs. My sons and I have spent countless days on the water and in the field, where I found myself reaching for the camera just as often as I reached for a rod or shotgun. The same moments that strengthened our bond also sharpened my skills, allowing me to develop a style that feels natural, immersive, and true to the experience.
Oakley’s Lens is a reflection of all of this—of the patience learned in training a dog, the stillness found in an early morning cast, and the unspoken connection between an outdoorsman or woman and their companion. Whether it’s capturing the intensity of a retriever in motion, the quiet wisdom of an aging gun dog, or the thrill of a fish or foul brought to hand, my goal is to tell the story beyond the image. To preserve the moments that define who we are and the passions that shape us.
What started as a personal pursuit has grown into a service for others. It’s only natural that I now use my lens to share the same joy, pride, and connection that have given me so much. Oakley’s Lens is more than a photography service—it’s a reflection of the bond between people, their dogs, and the places that shape their passions and stories.
